Golf Matches for the Week-end. An inter-club golf match will be played on the Charteris Bay links tomorrow between the Lyttelton Ladies and a team from the Hagley Club. During the coming week-end an interclub match will be played at Charteris Bay against the Rawhiti Club. The following have been selected to represent the Lyttelton Club: L. Gower, C. Pascoe, K. Gower, H. Derbidge, 11. Lee, H. Banfield, H. Fletcher and C. Collins. Emergencies—H. Ayers and F. Knight. A Calm Sea. Both in the inner and outer harbour at Lyttelton yesterday the sea was as smooth as a sheet of glass. Cranes on the waterfront and the hills round the harbour were reflected on the water almost as clearly as the objects themselves, and the sight viewed from the hills was beautiful. These conditions prevailed throughout the day. It is only in the late autumn that the water is as smooth as was the case yesterday. Billiards Tourney. J. Voyce was the winner of the flying fifty handicap billiards tournament, held at the Lyttelton Club on Monday evening. S. Wales was runner-up.
