LICENSE SUSPENDED.

Man was Drunk in Charge of Motor-car. Charles Edward Sisson, charged with being found drunk while in charge of a motor-car, was fined £2O at Kaiapoi to-day, in default of distress two months’ imprisonment. His license was cancelled and he was prohibited from obtaining a license before June 1, 1933. Mr E. D. Mosley, S.M., was on the Bench. By-law Cases. John F. Cracroft Wilson, H. Anstice, T. Armstrong and H. G. Chamberlain were each fined £2 and costs 15s for speeding in the borough. R. F. Powell and J. Callahan were each fined £1 and costs 15s on a similar charge. For driving a motor-cycle without holding a driver’s license, Colin Tisch was convicted and ordered to pay costs 15s. F. G. Taylor and E. B. Scott, for keeping open a shop for the purpose of selling goods on a Sunday, were convicted and discharged. Civil Cases. Judgment for plaintiff in default was given in the following cases:—L. Baker v. H. Baird, £4 Is. M. Ramsay v. G. M’Milland, £2; and J. O. Rutherford v. G. Kelly, £l2 2s 2d.
