APPRENTICE WINS £30,000.

CALCUTTA, March 20. Fortune has smiled on Sidney Lane, a young Anglo-Indian apprentice, in a workshop at Jamshedpur, Bihar. The boy, who is earning less than 100 rupees (£7 10s) a month, has won £30,000, as he was the holder of one of the Irish sweepstake tickets on Forbra, which won the Grand National. Lane intends to take his family to England.
