CHRISTCHURCH W.C.T.U.

Miss Henderson presided at the fortnightly meeting of the Christchurch branch of the W.C.T.U. Mrs Hornsbv, of the Greymouth Union, was welcomed by the president. Mesdames Israelsen and Pedler announced that arrangements were completed for the annual tea and concert, to be given by members and friends to the inmates of the Jubilee Home. Mrs Cooper reported sufficient material in hand to hold a sewing bee to make garments for the unemployed. Correspondence was received from Miss Musgrove, on behalf of the Knox Church Band of Hope jubilee, asking that the union join in the Sunday morning procession, and that two representatives be present at the banquet on the following Tuesday evening. Misses Henderson and Thomas were appointed the union’s representatives. Mrs Suckling, delegate to the recent Wanganui Dominion Convention, gave a report of the proceedings. Miss Chaplin will be the speaker at the next meeting.
