SAILOR’S DEATH.

Night Watchman Collapses while on Duty.

An able seaman, named John Hart, one of the crew of the Canadian steamer, Canadian Conquerer, died suddenly on board his ship shortly after 11 o’clock last night. Hart, who was acting as night-watch-man, was suddenly seized with a haemorrhage. He managed to struggle from the top of the ship’s gangway to the second officer’s cabin. The officer, after Hart had collapsed, sent for Dr C. H. Upham, and the police. Dr Upham on arrival found Hart dead. Hart is believed to be a Canadian, aged sixty-one. Dr Upham gave a certificate that death was due to natural causes. An inquest will not be necessary.
