IRISH CONCERT.
Mott Successful for Many Years. The Irish concert held in St James's Theatre last evening was a pronounced success, both as regards the programme and the attendance of the public. So great was the enthusiasm that long before eight o'clock the theatre was packed, which resulted in hundreds being turned away. All the proceeds were in aid of Nazareth House, and it must have been gratifying to the Sisters to know that the institution will benefit so considerably, and that it will be ahJe to carry on its mighty efforts in the cause of charity. Special interest attached to the concert this year on account of it being the fifteenth centenary of St Patrick's arrival in Ireland. In the past the concert has not been well patronised, but after last night's concert it can claim to have been resuscitated with new hope, and that in the future large patronage will be accorded it. The programme was an excellent one, presented by some of the bept artists in the city. The enthusiasm of the audience was high, and the old songs, dear to the hearts of the Irish, were thoroughly enjoyed, encores being numerous.
