TRANSPORT SERVICES.

Outer Areas Fear Further Curtailment. Further curtailment of transport services to the oyter areas of the city is feared by members of the Papanui Progress League. At a meeting last evening, Mr W. G. Chapman said it was only a question of time before the Northcote bus ceased to run. It was the thin end of the wedge and all non-paving buses would probably cease to run. Three , out of five members of the licensing authority were members of the Tramway Board. The outer areas of every part of the system were in danger. Mr T. Wood said that it had been found that any part of any tram system could be stopped without consulting the ratepayers concerned. The chairman said that if every nonpaying line was stopped New Brighton and Sumner would have been without a service years ago. The Bryndwr bus was useless. There was no service between 8.30 in the morning and noon.
