PRISONERS SENTENCED.

Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, March 17. The following - prisoners were sentenced to-day by Mr Justice Ostler:— John Alfred Foote, breaking, entering and theft at Marton, two years’ probation and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution, £1 Is, within a month; Samuel Hooke and William Wallace, breaking, entering and theft at Wellington and being in possession of housebreaking instruments, two years’ probation. and ordered to pay the costs of the prosecution, 10s 6d each; James Ogden Alexander, three charges of forging, and uttering at Nelson and a charge of false pretences, six months’ imprisonment; George Alexander Wilson and James Howard Coffin, breaking, enterand theft, breaking and entering theft, four years’ hard labour, to be concurrent with a two years’ term at present being served; John Colston and Albert Edward Owen, breaking and entering by night at. Hastings and committing theft, and breaking, entering and theft, detention in a Borstal Institute for a term not exceeding three years, to be concurrent with terms at present being undergone.
