It was decided to thank Professor R. E. Alexander for the courtesy extended. Dr Denham said that the finances were in a rather better condition, and £2OO would be carried over from the last financial year, as against £lB5 the previous year. Director’s Report. The director reported that the second annual report had been prepared, and was on much the same lines as the first. The first report had been circulated, and in return valuable periodicals had been received from all over the world. Holland and Russia had sent information which would have been unavailable otherwise. In the laboratory the chief work at the beginning of the year was the testing of moisture in wheat for farmers and millers, and the baking of millers' samples for grading and blending purposes. Much useful investigation had been carried out in plant breeding and crossing.
