Meeting of Oddfellows’ Lodge. The usual fortnightly meeting of the Loyal’ City of Norwich Lodge, M.U.1.0.0F.. was held on Tuesday evening when N.G. Brother M. J. Scott presided over a good attendance. Sick pay amounting to £54 3s 4d was passed for payment. One maternity claim and one funeral claim were also passed for payment. It was decided to make a donation to the funds of the Plunket Society. The deputies to the district meeting reported on the business transacted at the meeting, after which it was moved and seconded that they be thanked for their reports. The Noble Grand reminded members that the Juvenile Lodge was holding an evening for the presenttion of prizes and that members would be welcomed. The lodge would Vie entertaining the Loyal Kaia Toa Lor 1 ' ~xt lodge night. .. .lining. The Lyttelton Men's Amateur Swimming Club will hold the last of a series of swimming events at the Corsair Bay bath on Saturday afternoon. The programme will include a 50yds schoolboy championship, 25yds boys’ championship for the club’s scroll, diving championship and the club 33 l-3yds handicap. Diamond Harbour Golf Club. The Diamond Harbour Golf Club will open its season on Saturday afternoon with driving, approaching and putting competitions. A special putting contest will be held for councillors. Billiards. T. Coffey defeated C. E. Brown in the final round of the Lyttelton Club’s flying fifty handicap tournament held on Monday evening. Plunket Society. The president and committee members of the Lyttelton branch of the Plunket Society invited their vice-presi-dents to meet them at an “At Home” at Mrs Gilmour’s residence on Tuesday afternoon. Mrs Cecil Wood, hon secretary of the Christchurch branch, was present and spoke on many interesting matters in connection with the work of the society. It was explained that according to the new rules in the constitution, only three vice-presidents could be appointed and the remaining vice-presidents should form an honorarycommittee. Mrs Gilmour proposed a vote of thanks to Mrs Wood. Afternoon tea was served.
