Bowling Championship. (Special to the Star.”) ASHBURTON, March 16. The following is the draw for the Ashburton bowling sub-centre championships which will be played on the Methven greens on Saturday:— Rinks.—Allenton v. Ashburton, Rakaia v. Methven. Doubles.—Allenton v. Ashburton, Rakaia v. Methven. Singles. —Rakaia v. Ashburton, Allenton v. Methven. Rinks and doubles play will start at 10 a.m. and singles at II a.m. Mr W. J. Owen will be umpire for the day The following will represent the Ashburton Club:—Singles.—H. Higgins. Doubles.—S. Madden and J. Dick. Rinks.—W. 11. Woods, H. P. Milsom, W R. Lane, A. Lane. The Allenton representatives will be:—Singles.—J. Templeton. Doubles.—R. W. Barr and J. Boothroyd (s). Rinks.—J. Shaw, P. Boothroyd, R. Mathieson, J. Stevenson Basket-ball. It was decided at a meeting of those interested at Allenton last evening to form a basket-ball club. The following committee was set up:—Misses A. Graham, R. Welsh, J. Blackwood, N. Stringer, and M. Jary. Miss Mary Jary was appointed secretary. Football Club. The annual meeting of the Technical Old Boys Football Club was held this evening. There was a good attendance. Mr W. Crawford presided. The balancesheet showed a credit of £2 3s. The following officers were elected:—Patron, Mr T. Hayes; president. Mr R. J. Thompson; chairman, Mr A. Thompson; secretary, Mr E. Morris; club captain, Mr R. Varcoe; vice-captain, Mr F. Harper; executive. Messrs L. Dalton, N. Moore, P. Colville; auditor, Mr W. Crawford; delegate to Rugby Union, Mr A. Thompson; coach, Mr A. ThompPetition in Bankruptcy. A petition in bankruptcy has been filed by William Joseph Longley, restaurant proprietor of Ashburton, and a meeting of creditor* will be held on March 24.
