Market Steady, with Merino Greasy Firmer. 39,000 BALES FROM N.Z. SOLD. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 17, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, March 16. At the wool sales, 11,446 bales were offered, including 4310 bales from New Zealand, and about 4000 were sold. New Zealand lots sold as follows: Scoured combing: Lake (top price 17Jd), average 15£d. Greas\* half-bred: Bingley (top lOid), average 10$d. Slipe lambs: Fielding (top lid), average lOid. The sales closed steady, with Merino greasy slightly firmer than at the opening. Scoureds were firm, with a fall on the opening rates. Cross-breds "fine eased somewhat and are now about 10 per cent below the February rate. Medium and coarse are unchanged. Slipes are in keen demand, though prices are unchanged. The total catalogued was 112,000, and the amounts sold were: Home market 48,500 bales, Continent 44,000 bales. The total Australian wool sold was 30,500 bales, and New Zealand 39,000 bales.
