Water for School Baths.

In connection with the relief sought by the Beckenham School Committee in regard to charges for the supply of water for the school baths, the Water Supply Committee reported to the City Council last evening that it had ascertained that any reduction in the present price of water for bath purposes would not provide an adequate margin between the cost of pumping and the price of supply. It would also be incumbent on the council to make reductions to other schools. The committee, therefore, decided to adhere to its previous decision, but had instructed the City Engineer to assist the School Committee by reporting on the possibility of supplying water from the artesian springs in Beckenham Park. The report was adopted.
