FAIR AT HORNBY.
A successful food fair was held on Saturday in the Orange Hall, Hornby, in aid of the funds of the Hornby-Tem-pleton sub-branch of the Plunket Society. A children’s fancy dress parade was held in the afternoon, when Mrs J. Bryce and Mrs Richards (Christchurch) judged the costumes. The prize-winners were: Best fancy dress—Boy, Cyril Hamilton: girl, Nola Garrett. Best dress, paper—Boy, Adrian M’Kenzie; girl, Loreen Hendry. Most original—Boy, Raymond Richards; girl, Gladys Mackenzie. The stall-holders were: Produce stall, Mesdames Bryce and Freeman: cake stall, Mesdames Manson and Huffadine; Templeton stall, Mesdames Barnes, Rowe and Darroch; variety stall, Mesdames Palmer, Hepburn and Richardson; ice-cream, Miss Hepburn and Mr Billy: bran tub, Mrs Smalley, Misses Smalley and Woodham; tea-rooms, Mesdames Thomson, Wastney and Hayles.
