Keynes, the economist, broadcasting from London, paid a remarkable tribute to Mr l'*ar Kreuger. He said that his death Avas a poignant example of the helplessness of the individual to face many" Avorld problems. “He Avas a man,” said Professor Keynes, “ with perhaps the greatest constructive, financial intelligence of his age, Avhose far-flung activities had been in the Avidest sense in the public interest, and Avho concch-ed it his mission amid the chaos after the Avorld Avar to furnish a channel between countries Avhose resources Avere in surplus and those countries where they Avere desperately" required. Yet Mr Ivreuger Avas crushed bet'veen the icebergs of a frozen Avorld to which no individual can restore the Avarmth of normal life
