GOOD FARE AT LIBERTY.

One of the thrilling scenes in “Lasca ; of the Rio Grande,” which opened at - the Liberty Theatre on Saturday, is the i stampeding of a herd of cattle. Light- • ning is the cause of the trouble, and > when the stampede began, the maddenI ed creatures trampled everything in their [ path. The picture stars Dorothy Bur- [ goss. and concerns the sacrifice of a girl : for her lover. .Tose Santa Cruz is a ; half breed, who is very jealous of any [ man who threatens to come between : him an his sweetheart, Lasca, played i by Miss Burgess. He gives her a ring : with nine diamonds in it, saying that 1 she will die nine lives if she is unC faithful to him. Miles Kincaid (John ’ Mack Brown), a ranger, rides into the i town, and is warned by Jose for dancing - with Lasca. He refused to take warn- - ing. Meanwhile Lasca is molested by a drunkard. She stabs the man, and 1 makes off on a horse. Hearing of a r killing, and seeing the flying' horse and 3 rider, Miles shoots, and is astounded 1 when he finds he has shot Lasca. As a ranger, he has to take her to headquar- * ters. They set off, and Lasca’s wound is healed. Miles sends her back, after she . has promised that she will have nothing to do with Jose. Miles returns and is imprisoned. Two friends tell him , that Lasca has not kept her promise, J and help him to escape. He rushes to the town, captures Lasca. and makes off into the wilds, only to be captured bv Jose and his men. Miles is freed by . Lasca and when attempting to escape is shot. Lasca jumps from her horse, and t filings her body over that of the wound.j e 'd man. A herd of stampeding cattle pass over the two, and when Jose T arrives he finds Lasca dead. Instead of killing Miles, as he intended, he sends a him back to prison—a present from _ Jose Santa Cruz. | The second picture, “This Modern I Age,” is centred in Paris.
