ARBITRATION BILL.
Dissatisfaction AVithin Government Ranks. DEBATE RESUMES TO-NIGHT. (Special lo the “ Star.’*) WELLINGTON, March 14. Symptoms of the dissatisfaction within the Government’s ranks regarding the Arbitration Bill are shown, not only in the critical speeches of members of the Coalition, but also in the protests made prixatelv to Ministers, and it seems higher probable that the Government will agree to modification of the stringent conditions relating to the Conciliation Council and approach to the Arbitration Court. The Bill is likely to monopolise Parliament during the week beginning with the second reading xvhen the House resumes tonight. A financial statement covering eleven months’ figures of the current financial year was expected from the Hon W. Doxvnie Stewart, Minister of Finance during the coming week, but latest reports suggest- 'that this is unlikely, and that any further financial statement might be delayed until the Government is in a position to detail, not only the situation as it exists, but the difficult measures necessary to improve the’ budgetary outlook.
