Northland Club’s Desire to Race in Auckland. Although much secrecy is being observed by those moving to have the annual trotting meeting of the Northland Club take place in Auckland, sufficient can be gathered to make it clear that difficulties have arisen. Some few weeks ago members of the Northland Club were in Auckland, and it was then understood that the club was seeking permission to hold the meeting on the Takapuna Jockey Club’s course. Apparently these plans were changed, because since then the permission of tile president of the Trotting Conference, Mr FI. F. Nicoll, has been sought to allow the club to race at Alexandra Park. Whether the conference executive is favourable or not, it cai be definitely accepted that the Auckland Trotting Club would not grant the use of its course to any of the country clubs wishing to race in the
