CANTERBURY EIGHT.
Crew to Go into Training To-morrow. The eight-oar crew to represent Canterbury at the interprovincial and Olympic eighths regatta to be held at Picton on March 26, has been selected, and members will go into camp at Redclilfs to-morrow for about twelve days’ training. The crew which will row at Picton is as follows:—C. A. Stiles (stroke), F. PI. Thompson, G. East, S. Cox, J. Gilbey, J. L. M’Giffen, D. Reid, G. Toner (bow), with D. Mahony as cox. They will be under a strict training regime and will have several practice spins over a two-mile course. It is considered that the crew will have a good chance of defeating Otago, the premier crew last year. An interesting feature of the regatta will be an Olympic Possible v. Probable eight-oar race over a mile and a half course. The New Zealand selectors for the Olympic eight will be present at the regatta and the form displayed should be a good guide to them in their selec-
