The Canterbury Master Bmlclers' Association last evening decided not to express an opinion on the rates of pay for carpenters, but to leave the matter to the Arbitration Co'urt. “ Provided always that there will be an Arbitration Court." said the Secretary, Mr \V. H. \Vinsorl The chairman, Mr R. C. Jamieson, said that a demand {or lower wages should not be made at the present time.
