SWIMMING.
High School Wins Annual Relay Race. The annual inter-secondary school swimming relay races were held yesterday afternoon, in the Boys’ High School baths, Straven Road. Teams from Boys’ High School, St Andrew’s College, Christ’s College, St Bede’s College, Technical High School and West Christchurch District High School competed in both the senior and junior events. Favoured by excellent conditions, the racing was keen and the finishes close. In the senior event, Boys’ High School won by a foot from St Andrew’s, with Christ’s College a yard further back third. G. Low (Boys’ High School) swam a good length to stave off a determined challenge by G. E. Milnes (St Andrew’s) in the last length. In the junior race the Technical team proved too good for the opposition and won easily by five lengths. Results:— Senior Race. Wellbrock, C. C. Foote, W. K. Dougall), Christ’s College (T. A. Harpur, R. G. Deans, H. B. Hay, E. R. Harper). Junior Race. Technical College 1 Boys’ High School 3 Christ’s College 3 Time—Bl 3-ssec. The teams were: —Technical (S. Kingdon, R. Rimmer, R. Blake, K. Cutting), Boys’ High School (J. Donaldsfpn, P. Reardon, J. Smith, R. E. Williams), Christ's College (R. C. Webb, P. J. H. Howden, E. A. E. Sedgely, D. A. Cambridge).
