HITLER’S BRAVERY.
How he Captured Party of British. “TRUE STORY” REVEALED (Received March 9. 1.10 p.m ) BERLIN, March 8 The Nazi newspaper “ Atta^ 1 ” Il3 ' published the “ true story ” of how Hitler captured fifteen British solu.~i > and won the Iron • ross. It says that while Hitler was taking a message to battalion headquarters, he took refuge in a shell hole, where a British officer and fourteen soldiers were sheltering Hitler covered them with a revolver and made them prisoners. The British allegedly excused themselves by saying that he “ surrounded us.” The German regimental history does not mention the alleged exploit, but the brigade adjutant on July 17. 1918, acknowledged that Hitler had de livered two Americans who were taken prisoners by the Sixteenth Regiment. A war time comrade declares that Hitler was only ten days in the front line. He served throughout the war in a comfortable post at battalion headquarters. Hitler denies this, without elucidating the mystery of his war time achievements.
