LATE REV J. SMYTH.
Funeral Takes Place at Papanui Cemetery.
The funeral of the late Rev Jasper Smyth took place yesterday afternoon, the cortege leaving the residence of his daughter, Miss H. M. Smyth, at 243, Esplanade, New Brighton, for the Papanui Church. The ceremony at the graveside was conducted by Bishop West-Watson, while at the service in the church Canon T. Hamilton and the Rev W. H. Orbell officiated.
The pallbearers were the Rev A. 11. Acheson, the Rev A. H. Norris, the Rev IT. Williams, the Rev F. B. Redgrave, the Rev T. M. Curnow and Archdeacon F. N. Taylor.
The chief mourners were the Rev M. Smyth, Miss IT. M. Smyth and Miss D. Smyth. Among those present were : —Canon Staples Hamilton, the Rev P. IT. Pritchett, Sir R. Heaton Rhodes, Dr D. E.
