SWIMMING SPORTS.
Annual Contests Held by St Bede’s College. NEW 100 YARDS RECORD The annual swimming sports at St Bede’s College were held during the week-end at the Belfast baths. Despite unfavourable weather conditions, there was a fair attendance of specta-tor-s, and some good times were registered. J. S. MacDonald was outstanding in the senior championship events, while K. A. Purcell was the best of the juniors. Amongst the visitors present were;— Sir Cyril and Lady Ward. Mrs A. J. MacDonald, Miss M. Sheridan, Misses M. Ward, M. Walker, MacDonald, Morris, T. He established a new record for the 100yds senior with 63 2-osec, 3-ssec better than his own previous record.
