SUMNER RUGBY CLUB.
The annual report of the Sumner Rugby Football Club, to be submitted at the third annual meeting on Thursday evening, states that the club made a distinct advancement during the past season as shown by the fact that three
teams were fielded in the C.R.U. competitions, as against two in the previous
[ The first team, recognised as one of the best in the grade, was runner-up, equal, in the competition. The second team, playing in the fifth grade competition, also had a successful season. This team contained players of great promise. The third team, which played in the under sixteen grade, although at a distinct disadvantage in meeting heavier teams, playea good football. The committee expresses its appreciation to all who gave their support, particularly the president and the captain, Messrs V. Jensen and E. T. Chitty. The club has a substantial credit ha.la.nca.
