LAUNCH ADRIFT.

H.M.S. Wakakura Tows Vessel to Akaroa.

While steaming between Timaru and Akaroa on Tuesday morning, the minesweeper H.M.S. Wakakura sighted a launch drifting, flying a distress signal. The mine-sweeper steamed up to the drifting launch, and found it to.be the Mary Ann, a fishing launch belonging to Timaru. The Mary Ann was disabled through a broken big-end in the engine. The launch is owned by Mr John Wilson, and was towed to Akaroa, where repairs were effected.
