SELWYN KINDERGARTEN.
.The monthly meeting of the Selwyn Kindergarten Committee was held in the schoolroom on Thursday- There was a good attendance. Mrs Hamlin was in the chair. The director reported the number on the roll as seventy, with others on a waiting list. A mothers’ meeting had been held in February and a Mothers 1 Committee had been formed. Arrangements had been made for holding small functions throughout the year. Bruce M Callum, a small pupil of the school, had saved up his own pennies to buy a little chair for the new kindergarten, It was reported that a Harvest Festival or “open morning” would be held on Friday morning, March 11/ Arrangements were made for the annual fair and the following were asked to take stalls:—Work stall, Mesdames Moyle, Hutchings and Griffiths; cake stall, Mesdames Williamson, Atkinson, Harding and Patterson; produce stall, Mesdames M'Mullen and Hartigan; sweets stall, Miss Pearce and teachers; lucky packet, Mrs Robinson; three-penny stall, Misses Parlane and Moyle; ice cream stall, Misses Griffiths and Williamson; baby show, Mesdames Parlane and Wootten; afternoon tea, mothers* committee.
