MRS FORBES ENTERTAINS.
Afternoon at Parliament House.
A large number < f guests were entertained on Thursday afternoon by Mrs G. W. Forbes in the large reception room at Parliament House. Bowls of giant dahlias in many beautiful colourings, which had come from Mr Cooper’s garden at Lower Hutt, were a feature of the decorations, while on the tables were vases of tall African daisies, gypsophila, and other soft foliage. Musical selections were played during the afternoon by an excellent orchestra. Mrs Forbes wore a smart frock and short coat of black georgette and lace, and ‘her black felt hat had a plaited ostrich quill. She was assisted by her two daughters, Miss Forbes wearing a frock of blue crepe de chine patterned in beige and a beige straw bandeau hat. Miss Jessie Forbes was in blue patterned crepe de chine with a cowl collar of soft pink, and a wide-brimmed hat of blue straw.
