Arrangements Put in Hand

Arrangements in connection with the All Nations Fair, which is to be held in King Edward Barracks in April, in aid of the Mayor’s Relief of Distress Fund, were further advanced yesterday at a meeting of the executive which is promoting the fixture. Mr J. W. Hillary presided. Proposals for the holding of a street day on March IS were outlined by Mr S. W. Jameson. It was reported that several firms and organisations had offered to provide employees and helpers to man the corners in the vicinity of their establishments and institutions. Arrangements were made to circularise various firms, lodges and organisations appealing for additional helpers for the appeal. It was agreed to hold a competition among collectors after 7 p.m. The City Council, Chambers will be the headquarters.
It was stated that the sale of tickets for the fair would be made from house to house. It was agreed that the street appeal should be kept separate from the fair, and that- collectors should not be asked to sell tickets.
