Hotels Do Roaring Trade in Germany. PUBLICANS’ PROTEST FAILS. United Press Assn.—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. (Received March 4, 10.10 a.m.) - BERLIN, March 3. The publicans’ beer strike has collapsed and the hotels are doing a roaring trade. Publicans in Berlin and Hamburg struck, following an attempt by a new price “ dictator,” Dr Goerdeler, to reduce the rates for beer. The publicans refused to sell more beer until the “ obnoxious decree ” was repealed.
