RIFLE SHOOTING.
Variable Wind Troubles Marksmen. Per Press Association. TRENTHAM, March 4. Difficult shooting conditions were experienced at Trentham this morning, when the series of championship belt matches was continued. A variable left wind required careful watching, and nearly every shot called for alterations The Wellington match, 500 and 600 yards, was won by W. H. Ballinger (Petone) with a score of 96. Second and third places were filled by H. Simmonds (Auckland) and J. C. Feast (Greytown) respectively. Association Meets. At the annual meeting of the National Rifle Association last evening Mr F. H. Sharland (Nelson) was elected a member of the executive in place of Mr F. J. Silvius. No other changes were made in the personnel of the executive.
