Annual Meeting of Linwood Club. The Linwood Rugby Football Club set its affairs in order for the coming season at its annual meeting last evening. The president, Mr I'. D. Kesteven, presided over an attendance of about sixty In moving the adoption of the annual report the chairman said the club had a balance of about £2O to start the season with. A > pleasing feature of the club’s play was that it was consistent right through the grades. The Seniors had every prospect of a good year in common with the other grades. M’Naughton; committee, Messrs G Mansfield, R. Thompson, S. Whiteford, K. Murray, R. Price, G. Herman and M. Gunderson; delegates to Canterbury Rugby Union, Messrs W. Cowles, O. Turpin, H. Davis ana fe. Cooper; auditor, Mr A. J. Allard, coaches, Messrs S. Hooper, O. Turpin, K. Murray, J. Turpin, J. Dawson. H. Fisher, V. Trott, W. Yates, C. Hearn, H. Harley, W. King, A. Murray and o. Henery. The date of opening club activities 1 was fixed for March 19. Atr 11. Davis was appointed the offi- : eial nominee of the club for the Management Committee of the Rugby Union. A suggestion to enter a team in the Suburban cricket competitions or to organise friendly cricket games during the summer was left to the committee. ATHLETIC CLUB. The second annual meeting of the Athletic Rugby Football Club was held last evening. The report stated that all players were to be congratulated on their performances last year, and the committee had every confidence of fielding better teams this year. Officers were elected as follows: —President, Mr J. F. M’Kendry: vice-presi-dents, Messrs O. Watson, H. T. Armstrong, M.P., P. Kelleher, M. O’Brien, j. Close, B. Crowhurst, J. Coffey, E. Doyle and T. Aspell; club captain, Mr A. *E. Armstrong; secretary, Mr W. S. Mikkelson; treasurer, Mr J. T. M Kendrv; committee, Messrs Sheehan, J. O’Malley, I. Scully, F. Corbett, M. O'Reilly', A. Malcolm and I. Slattery; delegates to the Canterbury Rugby Union Messrs Mikkelson, Corbett and J. Tryon, sen.; auditor, Mr P. ClarkHIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS. The senior team was composed almost entirely of players new to that grade and, under the circumstances, they' put up a good performance, states the annual report of the High School Old Bovs’ Football Club to be presented to the' annual meeting to be held at the club rooms on Thursday, March 10, at 8 p.m. Eight teams were entered in the Rugby Union competitions, but none succeeded in winning their grades. Most of the senior players would be available for the coming season and, with the benefit of last year’s experience, should develop into a strong combination. Members of the club who gained representative honours were G. D. Innes, W. H. Vincent, C. H. M’Phail and F. J. Foley. Practices on the night training ground were generally well attended, but owing to lack of support it had been found necessary to abandon the gymnasium class after a few weeks. There had been a decided falling-off in the revenue from the club rooms, the year’s working showing a deficit, but that was in a
