THE EVENING BLOUSE.
Dress designers generally win out in the end. Now, after trying for som« time to popularise the, idea of the evening blouse, they have won dozens of recruits among the smart women overseas.
Even such a curious evening blouse fashion as the Cassock with the deep shoulder pieces has been launched successfully in Paris, says an exchange.
At the smart restaurants, women are dining in beautifully embroidered jumpers of chiffon, georgette or transparent velvet, which are completed with ankle-length skirts of a black or dark shade. This should appeal, as it would be an excellent way of using the skirts of otherwise worn evening frocks.
The evening jumpers are either sleeveless or long-sleeved styles. Sequins, blister pearls and tiny beads are frequently used for the embroidery that may be massed together at the neck and repeated in the belt, or used in a trailing effect all over the surface of the blouse.
As the wide shoulder Jine has been adopted for daytime frocks, it naturally follows that it will appear on evening frocks.
