THE SOCCER GAME
Nomads’ Club Reviews the Season. The twenty-ninth annual general meeting of the Nomads Association Football Club was presided over by Mr W. O. Coates. Mr Coates, in moving the adoption of the report, commented on the satisfactory position of the club. The senior team had travelled to Dunedin to play a friendly fixture with the Maori Hill Club, and also to Greymouth and Wellington, in connection with the Chatham Cup, being beaten in the final afetr extra time. The senior team finished level with Rangers in the Hurley Shield competition, and were also finalists in the English Cup. The lower grade teams were not successful in winning their various competitions, but the club spirit that was shown amongst them was a credit to the code. The starting of the fourth grade B team was an asset to the club, as every member was new to the code. Members of the basketball teams were thanked for their assistance to the club. The finances of the club were satisfactory, the expenditure for the season being £Bl 13s lOd and income £B6 11s. The election of officers resulted:— Parton, Dr Pairman; president, Mr A. W. Sellars: vice-presidents, Messrs Jagar, Smyth, Coates, Smart, Abbott, Wilson, Johnson, Olliver, Woods, Grant, Eastgate, Howie; club captain and treasurer. Mr H. Chapman; secretary, Mr W. O. Coates; finance committee, Messrs Wilson, Sellars. Chapman and Coates; senior selector, Mr W. O. Coates; junior selector, Mr K. Johnson; selectors for boys teams to be appointed at a later date; auditor, Mr H. Chaplin.
