ARBITRATION COURT.
Sitting to be Held in Christchurch Next Week. The first sitting of the Arbitration «3ourt in the New Year will be held at Christchurch on Tuesday next, when further consideration will be given to the application of the North Canterbury threshing-mill owners for a reduction in the existing rates of wages. When the dispute was before the Court prior to Christmas, it was referred back to the parties in order that they might endeavour to arrive at a settlement. In the meantime several conferences in conciliation and privately have been held, but no settlement has been arrived at so far as wages are concerned.
A meeting of both employed and unemployed workers has been called for to-morrow afternoon, at 2.30. Prominent speakers will take part. Women are especially invited to attend.
