WEDDING.
MTNTYRE—DEVINE. The wedding was solemnised at St Luke’s Church, by the Rev G. W. Dent, this afternoon of Annie May, eldest daughter of Mr and Mrs L. Devine, Hanmer Springs, and Charles David Macfarlane, eldest son of Mr and Mrs D. M’lntyre, of Linwood, Christchurch. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory satin, cut on simple lines. Over the deep, sleeveless bodice was worn a matching coatee, clasped with a brilliant buckle. The fully flared skirt, worn almost to the ground, joined the bodice in a deep point in front. Her billowy tulle veil, worn back from the face, was encircled with strands of orange blossom, little posies of buds falling over the ears. She carried a bouquet of white flowers lightly touched with pink. Miss Isla M’lntyre (sister of the bridegroom) attended the bride. Her long frock of begonia pink lace was worn with a long sleeved lace coatee. Her hat of pink crinoline straw had a wide brim and toned with the shaded flowers of her bouquet. The bridegroom was assisted by Mr B. Jeffery as best man. A reception at which about sixty guests were present was held at the Cadena tea rooms. Mrs Devine (mother of the bride) wore a smart frock of nut brown celanese crepe de chine, with a beige vestee and a straw hat to tone. She carried a bouquet of autumn tinted flowers. Mrs M’lntyre (the bridegroom’s mother) was wearing a pretty floral frock of blue celanese patterned in brown and fawn, with a fawn straw hat. She carried a bouquet of pink carnations. Mrs F. M’Alister (sister of the bride) wore a blue floral satin frock, with a hat to tone. When Mr and Mrs M’lntyre left for their wedding tour, the bride was wearing a suit of nigger brown silk linen, with a brown Bangkok hat, and carrying a brown tailored coat to match.
