THE SOCIAL ROUND.
Gatherings Held in the Town and Suburbs. On Saturday night a surprise party visited the residence of Mr and Mrs W. White, Wilson’s Road, Opawa. Singing and dancing helped to pass a pleasant evening. Among- those present were: Meadames A. Taylor, J. Carter and W. White, Misses R. Taylor, T. Taylor, L. Peck, M. Hawke, M. Jackson, N. Ozane, N. Gifford, T. Vinniter, M. Woodham, E. Cox, T. M’Kenzie, I. Williams, M. M’llroy, G. Smith, W. M’Kay, J. Harvey and T. Beary, Messrs A. Taylor, J. Rogers, T. Gifford, W. Allen, G. Wittington, R. Grammer, V. Boatwood, G. Butler, J. Souter, G. Bidwell, M. Stanley, Stanley, sen., C. Corliss, C. Anderson. T. Humphries, J. Carter, J. White, G. Barnard, W. 'White and J. M’Kenzie. Party at Linwood. On Monday evening an enjoyable party was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs Heath, Mackworth Street, Linwood, in honour of their daughter Jean. Dancing o'n the lawn and games were enjoyed. Mr Courtney Shearer was M.C. Among those present were: Mr and Mrs Heath, Misses R. Woodham, M. Rigby, J. Heath, G. Laine, L. Diamond, H. Blenkinsop, M. James and B. Yates Messrs C. Shearer, K. W. Hardwicke, C. Dunlop, A. Burge, C. Liddle and C. James. Variety Stall Aided. A pleasant evening was spent at Mr and Mrs Hitchings’ residence, Waltham Road, in aid of the variety stall to be held in the Opawa Baptist Church. Items were given by Mrs Pilgrim, Miss R. Hitchings, Mr E. Voyce and Mr M. Coburn. The rest of the evening was spent in games. A vote of thanks was given to Mr and Mrs Hitchings. Those present were:—Mesdames Crowe, Duncan, Mackwell, Pilgrim, Voyce, Misses V. French, J. Pilgrim, M. Simpson, R. Simpson, K. Rhind, M. Smyth, M. Sherlock, J. Lutton, R. Goodwin, Messrs G.
