TIMARU SOCIAL NOTES.

Mrs G. A. Martin (Te Weka Street) has returned from a visit to Karitane. Misa Nancy Paterson has left for Akaroa. Mrs J. C. Templer (Waimate) is the guest of Mrs Percy Wright (Christchurch) for a few days. Mrs Millward (Dunedin), Miss Coney and Miss Olsen (New Plymouth) are staying at “ Kelso/’ Sarah Street. Mrs John Holm and her sister. Miss Mina Ward (Christchurch), are spending a holiday in Timaru. Miss Betty Beadel (Christchurch) has returned home after a visit to Miss Ethel LeCren (Maori Hill). Mrs F. F. A. Ulrich (Wai-iti Road) has left with her children to spend a few days at their hut at the river. Mr and Mrs P. A. Elworthy and Miss Anne Elworthy (Gordan’s Valley) have returned from a caravan trip to Akaroa. Mrs H. Large (Napier) is the guest of Mrs W. D. Napier for the SpeightNapier wedding to-day. Mr and Mrs Terrence Bridgeman '(Dunedin) are visitors to Waimate for the Speight-Napier wedding. Mrs A. N. Oakey (Hewiings Street), who has been spending the holidays at Hae-te-Moana, has returned home. Mrs Rowlinson (Blenheim) is the guest of Mrs Geoffrey Rich (“ The Rock,” Cave). Mrs J. Mowbray Tripp (“ Silverton,” Woodbury) is spending a few days in Christchurch. Mr and Mrs Harold Elworthy (“ Craigmore ”), who have been on the West Coast,' are now staying in Christchurch. Mrs James Grant (Grey’s Hills) and Miss Doris Ronaldson (Christchurch) are the guests of Mrs A. Grant (“ Aigenthighe,” Wai-iti Road). Miss E. Scrimshaw and Miss A. Pufflett (Temuka) have returned home after spending a holiday at Queenstown. Mrs Timaru Rhodes (“Hadlow”), who haa been the guest of Mrs W. T. Ritchie at Moeraki, will return home •to-day. Mrs W. H. Helmore and Miss Elena Helmcrre (“ Koromiko,” Wai-iti Road), who have been on a motoring tour in the North Island, will return home today.

Miss L. M’Laren (” Cadogan,” Sefton Street), who has been staying with Mrs J. M. Ritchie and Mrs R. I. Ritchie at Moeraki, has left to stay with Mrs Bell (Shag Valley).
