THE ART GALLERY.

* Date for Opening will be Decided Soon. A meeting of the Art Gallery Committee was held this morning, the Mayor, Mr D. G. Sullivan, M.P., presiding. A committee was set up to make recommendations to the February meeting on the nature and size of the staff of the Art Gallery, and also to define its duties. A second committee was set up to fix a date for the opening ceremony, and to make recommendations on the form which the ceremony should take. Mr Sullivan intimated that he would in all probability call a conference in the near future between the City Council and the Society of Arts to set up a permanent Art Gallery Committee.
