LYTTELTON NEWS.

Heavy North-east Seas off Heads. There was a strong north-east roll outside the Lyttelton Heads yesterday. The s.s. John Anderson, which was to have made a call at Okains Bay, was forced to turn back after making an attempt to round the head of the bay. The vessel had to restrict its calls to Little Akaloa, where a quantity of cheese and a number of sheep w efe loaded. A call was also made at Menzies Bay, where 150 lambs were taken on board. Y.W.C.A. Concert. There was a large attendance at the Iloly Trinity Sunday School last evening, when members of the Lyttelton branch of the Y.W.C.A, staged a bright entertainment. The programme included a number of concerted items by the younger children, besides physical culture demonstrations, action songs and elocutionary items. Billiards Tourney. R. Duckworth was the winner of the weekly flying fifty handicap billiards tournament played at the Lyttelton Club on Monday evening. S. Thurlow was runner-up. Euchre Party and Dance. The final euchre party and dance of season was held at the Lyttefton Club on Saturday evening. A large number of members and their friends attended. The winners of the euchre prizes were Mr S. Porteus and Mrs Buckland, and consolation prizes were awerded to Mr R. Shepherd and Miss Buckland.
