TIMARU WOOL SALE.
Prices on Par with Those in Christchurch. SUPER HALF-BRED, 10iD. (Special to the “ Star.") TIMARU, December 14. The top price at the first Timaru wool sale, held to-day, was 10$d, secured for three bales of super half-bred, sold on behalf of A. G. Ilamner, of Albury. The next best was 10id, for six bales of fine half-bred hogget. Prices were on a par with those in Christchurch. Fine half-breds sold freely, while rough crossbreds were difficult to dispose of. Medium quarterbreds were in demand.
The best all-round prices were paid by Dominion buyers for fine sorts, v ranging in the vicinity of 9d. Leading prices were:— Pyne, Gould, Guinness —2F Hinds, 7 bales fine half-bred 9id, 14 bales halfbred hogget 9d; Cup hand, 13 bales first half-bred 9id; Kawarua, 13 bales super half-bred ewe 9|d, 71 bales first half-bred ewe 9£d, 4 super Jkalf-bred hogget 9£d; Rockwood, 14 bales A half-bred ewe 9d; Cairnforth, 4 bales first half-bred ewe 9id; Creelands, 7 bales half-bred 9id; Ben M’Leod, 4 bales fine half-bred hogget 9£d. Canterbury Farmers Co-operative Association, Ltd.—Hazelburn, 6 bales super half-bred 9id, reclassed 8 bales A half-bred 9£d; J.S., 8 bales A halfbred ewe 9d; 1.M., 4 bales AA halfbred 9id.
New Zealand Loan Company—Dalzell, 5 bales AA half-bred hogget 9d, 4 bales half-bred hogget 9d, 10 bales AA half-bred wether 91 d, 11 bales A halfbred wether 9d.
National Mortgage—N in circle, nine bales super half-bred 9ld; L.H., three bales first super half-bred hogget 9d, 14 over bar, three bales super half-bred ewe 9id; J. 8., fifteen bales fine halfbred ewe 9id, five bales fine three-quarter-bred hogget 9id, six bales fine half-bred hogget 10id; H.K., four bales first half-bred hogget 9id.
