Gatherings Held in the Town and Country. STUDIO DANCE. A delightful dance was held on Saturday night at Miss Mary Menzie’s studio, which was specially decorated with bowls of lovely roses and delphiniums. Miss Mary Menzies wore a pretty frock in Empire style of cherry satin, rucked at the high waistline, and encircled with a narrow belt. Miss Egidia Menzies was in a dainty floral ninon frock mounted on royal blue with a blue belt to tone. Those present were:—Mr and Mrs J. G. L. Vernon, Mr and Mrs L. P. Symes. Mr and Mrs Guy Nicol, Mr and Mrs Clive Packer-Dowst, Dr and Mrs Frank Scott, Dr and Mrs A. C. An enjoyable evening was spent at the Triangle tea rooms, Little River, recently, when the friends of Miss Grace Fahey, who is to be married this month, entertained her at a kitchen evening. The bride-elect was the recipient of many useful gifts. The evening was spent in games, cards and competitions, the latter being won by Miss Mary Cradock and Desmond Radford, and Miss Grace Fahey and Mr A. Dawber. Euchre prizes were won as follows: Ladies, Miss R. Fahey; men, Mr C. Dobbs; consolation prizes, Mrs A. Lowden and Mr A. Dawber. Those present were:—Mesdames Fahey, Steans, A. Lowden, J. Keenan, P. Fallon, S. Barclay, Leo Fahey, A. Radford, T. Brankin, Flynn and Dawber, Misses Rout, E. Harty, L. Le Compte, C. Steans, J. Cradock, K. Archer, Breitmeyer, G. Lowden, N. Radford, Walcelin, M. Cradock and M. Keenan, Messrs Aitken, Baines, Radford, L. Thompson, L. Brietmeyer, G. Rout, O. Gardener, L. Fahey, T. Fahey, C. Dobbs, Steans, Brankin, Dawber, J. Keenan, D. Radford, P. Steans, W. Tipping, Iv. Radford, R. Harrison, P. Fallow and A. Lowden. Surprise Party. A surprise party visited Mr and Mrs G. Iloskin, Loburn, at their new home on Thursday evening. An enjoyable time was spent with games, music and competitions. A treasure hunt was won by Mrs Macleod, other competitions being won by Mrs Montgomery and Misses Josephine James and Olwyn Croft, and Mr D. Hoslcin.
