SHIPPING NOTES. GALE completed loading yesterday morning and sailed for Wellington and Wanganui.-. BREEZE is still undergoing overhaul. She will load for the south next Friday. WAIPAHI, which arrived from Timaru yesterday morning, loaded and sailed in the evening for Wellington, Napier and Gisborne. HOLMDALE was delayed at Timaru yesterday on account of rain and is not now due at Lyttelton until to-morrow. TEES, at Timaru, was also held up by rain. She is now due to-morrow morning. WINGATIJI completed loading early yesterday afternoon and was dispatched for Auckland, via Wellington. TAUPATA, from Nelson, arrived early last evening to load for Nelson,. Mopua, Motueka and nearby ports. TOTARA, which was timed to arrive to-day, will not now call at Lyttelton. FOXTON is texpected to-morrow to take in cargo for Foxton. WAIPIATA is due from Portland and Auckland, via Wellington, Tuesday; thence Dunedin, Bluff, Oamaru and Timaru. WAIMARINO is due back at Lyttelton on Tuesday to load for northern ports. KINI is now due next Friday from Greymouth and Westport, via Bluff and Oamaru. STORM, due on Sunday from southern ports to load for Wellington, Picton and Wanganui. INTERCOLONIAL SERVICE. ULIMAROA left Wellington to-day

for Sydney, where she is due on Tuesday. MAUNGANUI left Sydney to-day for Wellington, where she is due on Tuesday. VANCOUVER AND 'FRISCO SERVICE. AORANGI left Sydney on September 17 for Auckland, Suva, Honolulu and Vancouver. Due at Vancouver on October 9, and leaves there on October 14. MAKURA left Sydney yesterday for Wellington and San Francisco, where she is du’e on October 23. NIAGARA left Vancouver on September 16 for Auckland, via Honolulu and Suva. Due at Auckland on October 5. MONOWAI left San Francisco on September 30 for Wellington and Sydney Due at Wellington on October 19, SIERRA, from Sydney, via Auckland, is du*e at San Ftancisco on October 7. VENTURA, from San Francisco, is due at Auckland on October 16, and at Sydney on October 20. SONOMA leaves Sydney on October 6 for San Francisco via Auckland. Due at San Francisco on October 28. ISLANDS SERVICES. TOFUA leaves Auckland on Monday for Fiji, Tonga and Samoa. IIIKURANGI was rimed to leave Auckland to-day for Norfolk Island. MAUI POMARE left Auckland on September 25 for Niue Island and Apia, where she will load for Lyttelton, Wellington and Auckland. MORINDA is to leave Sydney on October 8 for Lord Howe Island, Norfolk Island and Auckland. She is due at Auckland on October 27. TASMAN AND PACIFIC. WAIKOUAITI is expected at Lyttelton about October 10 from Sydrrey, via Bluff and Dunedin. From Lyttelton she proceeds to Timaru. WAINUI is due at Lyttelton on October 7 from Melbourne, via Bluff. She proceeds to Wellington, Bluff and Melbourne. WAIOTAPU leaves Los Angeles on October 11 for Auckland, Wellington, Nelson, New Plymouth, Dunedin and Australia. Due at Lyttelton on November 13. KAIMIRO loads at Adelaide about October 8, and continues taking in cargo at Edithburg and Melbourne for Wanganui. Lyttelton, Bluff and Dunedin. GOLDEN WEST was to leave Los Angeles yesterday for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru and Dunedin. Due at Lyttelton on November 6. OVERSEAS VESSELS. CORNWALL arrived at Lyttelton from Wellington this morning to continue discharge of her West of England cargo. SOMERSET was despatched from Lyttelton for Wellington yesterday afternoon to continue- her Homeward loading. PORT HUON leaves London on October 7 for Wellington, Lyttelton and Bluff. Expected at Lyttelton on November 14. TREHERBERT, which has been in port for some time, will be dispatched for Newcastle to-morrow. TONGARIRO, which is loading for London and the West Coast ports of the United Kingdom, has been delayed by bad weather at Port Chalmers, and it is doubtful whether she will leave there to-day for Oamaru. REMUERA left Auckland at 5.45 p.m. on, Wednesday for London, via Panama RANGITIKI, which arrived at Auckland at 10.30 p.m. on Wednesday from London and Southampton, is expected to leave there to-morrow for Wellington to continue discharge. She is due at Lyttelton on October 14. CORINTHIC is due at Lyttelton from Timaru on October 13 to load. BRUNSWICK, from Auckland, due on October 12 to continue discharge of her American cargo. The vessel then proceeds to Sydney and Melbourne. TARANAKI, direct from London, due to-morrow morning. PERSONAL. Captain E. Jackson has relieved Captain J. E. Hancox as master of the Fairburn. Mr L. W. Brown has relieved Mr R. Young as second engineer of the Kapiti. EXAMINATION RESULTS. The following are the results of examinations conducted during September by the Marine Department: The following passed for their secondclass marine engineers’ certificates: Messrs J. B. Campbell, W. C. Hughson and F. A. Smith. Mr F. R. Futter passed for hig secondclass motor engineer’s certificate. Mr G. T. Pawson passed for his second-class oil engineer’s certificate. Mr E. G.
