Oddfellows Hold Meeting and Dance. The fortnightly meeting of the Loyal City of Norwich Lodge, M.U., 1.0.0. F., Lyttelton, was held on Tuesday evening, when N.G. Bro L. R. Scott presided over a large attendance of members. Fourteen members declared on the sick funds, five declared off, and sick pay amounting to £52 13s 4d was passed for payment. Invitations from the Loyal Riccarton Lodge to attend its forty-fifth annual dance on September 30 and from the Loyal Sister Pearce Lodge to be present at its thirty-fifth annual dance on October 7 were received. It was decided to support the constitution of the Dominion Council of Friendly Societies as laid down at the conference in May last. The N.G., Bro L. R. Scott, extended a welcome to the officers and members of the Loyal Kaia Toa Lodge and other lady visitors. After the business had concluded a pleasant evening was spent in old-time dancing. Bros J. H. Nelson, J. H. Williams and V.G. Bro M. J. Scott contributed musical items. Mr J. Wyatt, Mrs G. Brooke and Miss I. Scott and Mrs R. T. Ings assisted with the music. Among those present were: D.P.G.M. Sister M. A. Ryder, Sisters M. Pascoe, R. Easton, M. Carter, I. M’Clenagan, D. Butcher, G. James, E. Thompson, E. Casey, I. Scott, G. Austad, R. Duff, S. S. Scott, M. Nixon, F. Collins, A. Jones; Mesdames H. Beaumont, R. H. Pascoe, R. T. Ings, B. P. Toomey, W. Jones, Thomas, B. A. Arnesen, Geayly, Peachy, G. Brooke, E. P. Benn, G. Miller, J. D. Duff, J. Geayly, jun., A. Jones, R. Parratt and Misses M. Nolan, V. Beaumont and Deane Jeffries, and forty-eight members of the. lodge.
