FIRE AT CHEVIOT.
Brewery and House Gutted During Night. Fire broke out at Cheviot at ten o’clock on Monday night in the fiveroomed house owned and occupied by Mr L. H. Pruden. Mr Pruden was attending a concert in the township at the time of the outbreak, and returned to find the house practically destroyed. With the help of a band of workers the blaze was extinguished, but at 2.30 a.m. on Tuesday the fire broke out again and destroyed the brewery building and plant. The .origin of the fire is not known. Mr Pruden had recently made several improvements to his property.
