Fendalton Club’s Annual Meeting. The annual meeting of the Fendalton Lawn Tennis Club was held in the club’s pavilion. The president (Mr T. D. Harman) was in the chair and there was a fair attendance of members. The following officers were elected:— Patron, Mr G. Humphreys; president, Mr M. G. Somerville; vice-presidents, Messrs J. M. Stewart, G. E. Curry, G. H. Royds, H. Kitson, B. Seth-Smith, J. W. K. Lawrence, E. J. Chennels and T. D. Harman; honorary secretary, Mr E. A. Lee; honorary treasurer, Mr A. Stewart; honorary auditor, Mr D. M. Lusk; club captain, Mr A. Stewart; handicapper and selector, Mr H. Herman; delegate to Sports Protection Association, Mr E. A. Lee; delegates to Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association, Messrs A. E. Steere, M. G. Somerville and E. A. Lee; general committee, Messrs E. W. England. H. Harman, J. W. Fisher, A. E. Steere, J. G. A’Court, H. E. H. Robinson and W. S. Mac Gibbon; ladies’ committee, Mrs E. E. Crawshaw, Misses M. Morland, M. E. Jones, I. Deal and S. Goss. Opening day was fixed for Saturday, October 3. The following additional matches in the club championships have been played:—Men’s singles—Final: J. R. Crawshaw beat- W. S. Somerville, 6-1, 6-4; men’s doubles—Final: J. G. A’Court and J. W. D. Following are the results of some of the matches in the Pacific Coast lawn tennis championships:'— Men’s singles—G. M. Lott (U.S.A.) beat Lloyd Budge (U.S.A.), 6-4, 4-6, 6-3. Lester Stoefari (U.S.A.) beat Everett Mertes, 6-1, 8-6. Women’s singles—Miss Edith Cross (U.S.A.) beat Miss Helen Jacobs (U.S.A.), 3-6, 8-6, 6-3. Combined—F. J. Perry and Mrs Anne Harper (England) beat Charles Hunt and Miss Marian Hunt (U.S.A.), a brother and sister, 8-6, 7-5. Men’s doubles—F. J. Perry and G. P. Hughes (England) beat Worth Oswold and Lloyd Budge (U.S.A.), 6-2, 6-4.
