Wellington Festival Has Record Entries. Per Press Association. WELLINGTON, August 19. With record entries the Mayor, Mr T. C. A. Hislop, opened the Competition Society’s festival to-night. The principal results were:— Tenor Solo, own selection—Mr H. S. Seaton (Wellington) 1, Mr Oscar Dver (Upper Hutt) 2. Recitation—Miss Joyce Hould (Auckland) 1, Miss Dorothy Clark (Dunedin) Character Dance, open—Miss Miriana Hecketa (Wellington) 1, Miss Audrey Robertson (Wellington) 2. Recital, with musical accompaniment —Miss Madge Nixon (Christchurch) 1, Miss Joan Maunder (Wellington) 2. Sacred Solo, women—Miss E. Pengally (Miramar) 1, Miss Gladys Barton (Auckland) 2. Shakespearean Recitation, under twenty-one—Miss Dorothy Clark (Dunedin) 1, Mr HTerllev Aitken ( Wellington)
