HAGGIS INTRODUCED.

St Andrew’s College Old Boys’ Reunion. SCOTTISH TRADITION. Members of the St Andrew’s College Old Boys’ Association held their twelfth annual reunion dinner at the New Zealand Farmers’ Co-operative Association tea-rooms last evening. Scottish tradition had its fulfilment in the introduction of the haggis. A KiPed piper tuned up a lusty skirl to announce its arrival and behind the piper came the dish, the honour of carrying wnich had been bestowed upon the largest and most robust member of the association. While the piper played a lively march the majority of the memoirs present fell in in single file behind the custodian of the haggis and took part in a triumphant march round the room. After that came the eating, and owners of Scottish palates pronounced it a huge success. Over one hundred members of the association were present. The president. Mr W. A. M’Donald, was in the chair. The head master of St Andrew’s College, Mr A. K. Anderson, and Mr John Mac Gibbon, a member of the Board of Governors, were among the guests of the evening. The loyal toast was proposed by the president. Other toasts honoured were | “ The Board of Governors,*’ “The College,” and “ Kindred Associations.” At the conclusion of the dinner the evening turned to the more serious side, for the annual general meeting. The following officers were elected: Patron, Mr A. K. Anderson; president, Mr W. A. C M'Donald; vice-presidents. Messrs 11. Dowling and J. J. Pawsey; secretary, Mr G. A. M. Hilson; committee, Messrs R. B. Hamilton. J. R. Little, J. B. Dowling, C. S. Gibbs, L. A. Lilly. K. R. Wallace and R. D. Burns. In the afternoon, at St Andrew’s College grounds, the annual match between the town and country teams of the Old Boys’ Association was played, the country side winning by 11 points to 3 after a lively game.
