(Special to the “ Star.”) AUCKLAND. August 17. There was a fair demand In banking sections to-day, but buyers kept their bids well down. New Zealands were easier with sellers at 48s Sd and the best buyers 47s 9d. Commercials were steady with buyers at 13s 2d. New Zealand Insurances were again available at sßs. Buyers offered 42s 6d for Standards. A parcel of National Mortgage Agency shares was offered at 42s 6d and Whittome, Stevensons at 235. Buyers for Moturoa Oils again stopped at 4s 6d. Government tax free bonds were offered at par with the Inscribed issue at 5s cheanej*. There were no buyers for sJ’s. The quote of £99 was bid for 33’s and £99 10s for 36 s.
