HOCKEY.

Championship Won by 1 Selwyn. TRINITY RUNNERS-UP. The final round of the Canterbury Hockey Association competitions was played on Saturday last in fine weather and the grounds were again in excellent order. Selwyn succeeded in defeating Sydenham by one goal to nil. and thus won the championship for the season. Trinity had the bye and finish runnersup with only one point less than the winners. Sydenham and Technical tied for third place. Christchurch played a drawn game with Technical at Ensor’s Road, the score being two goals each. Varsity, who have improved greatly during the season, defeated Redcliffs by four goals to two. The following table shows the points gained by the senior teams:—

SCHOOLS FIVE-A-SIDE. The primary schools' five-a-side hockey tournament will be held on Tuesday next at Hagley Park commencing at 2.15 p.m. Entries for all grades will be free and boys must play in the grades in which they have been playing in the ordinary competitions. Trophy sticks donated by the Herbert Smith Trust Fund will he presented to each boy in each winning team. Boys must . attend punctually. THE GREY SHIELD. The following are the points for the Grey Shield. Trinity win the trophy with an aggregate of 202 points. Sydenham are next with 191. Technical made 164, and Selwyn 156.
